Raw Food Diet – Gourmet
One aspect of contention in the raw food movement is the concept of “raw gourmet”. Some say that it is gimmicky and because it involves a lot of drying of food and dehydration that this detracts from the efficacy of the food being consumed in any case and that it has little practical value in real food preparation in the raw food diet. However, there are some famous raw food restaurants such as Juliano’s in America which might use a lot of these sort of techniques.
One thing that is probably almost always the case is that gourmet foods will often take more time to prepare. Another raw food issue that one might think about is that of food combining. Whilst it might not always be the case that gourmet food is hard to digest, oftentimes if there are numerous different ingredients in a meal, then it can be more complex in terms of which foods are meant to be able to digest best with which. Of course, some say that food combing is not an issue, yet our instinct tells us that eating brazil nuts with an orange for example will be harder to assimilate.
