Raw Food Diet Dangers

Raw Food Diet – Dangers

One aspect of the raw food diet that could be seen as dangerous is that of eating foods which might not be safe in any or small amounts to some or all people. For example it is reported that buckwheat greens might be toxic when raw especially for those who have a light skin pigmentation. Other foods may be dangerous to eat as sprouts such as kidney beans. Furthermore or course, it may be dangerous to eat some animal foods when raw as any bacteria might be exacerbated by non-sterile maintenance of the flesh.

Other raw food areas of danger that are reported are B12 deficiency and other minerals etc. for that matter. Those following a raw food diet might for instance need to be especially careful about getting vitamin D, by more sunlight exposure. Other dangers include loss of bone mass and weight dropping below what is considered healthy. Other dangers might be the high intake of sugar from hybridised fruits such as bananas etc. – there are many dangers and one should be vigilant. It is better to transition carefully and best to try to follow those who say that they have been successful on this diet ? although most appear to say that animal products in some form is best.
